Meet the Team
Renee Segura was born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and has loved living, working and raising her two children in such a warm-hearted and close-knit community. Renee attended NMSU and graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel, restaurant, and tourism management.
She has worked in the senior living industry for 12 years and joined the Solstice Senior Living family nearly 10 years ago. Renee has found great joy in helping seniors transition from their home into a community setting that looks and feels like a boutique hotel and works just like a cruise ship! She is passionate about helping seniors discover their options when considering independent living, even when assistance is needed or may be needed in the future.
She has a wide variety of interests but especially enjoys the arts, the outdoors, travel, and spending time with family and friends. Renee looks forward to serving you and your family as you begin your research into finding the perfect place to call home!
Director of Sales and Marketing
Laura Arriaga is the director of Sales and Marketing for Solstice Senior Living at Las Cruces. She joins the team with more than a decade of experience in the senior living industry, and previously served as director of sales and marketing for Invigorate Post Acute of Las Cruces.
She loves putting a smile on people’s faces and giving back to the community. In her free time, Laura enjoys cooking, baking, spending time with Ruben, her husband of 30 years, and daughter Valeria, and supporting her favorite sports teams, the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Lakers.
Business Office Director
Jenna Starkel is the Business Office director for Solstice at Las Cruces. The Las Cruces native has always enjoyed working with seniors and finding ways to make an impact in her community, big or small. Jenna earned a human resources management certificate from Cornell University and is a certified nursing assistant. She currently studies psychology and industrial organization at Ashworth College and is preparing for the New Mexico real estate licensing exam.
Before joining the Solstice team, Jenna led community events and petitions against child abuse and continues to serve as an ambassador with Donate Life New Mexico to increase awareness about organ and tissue donation.
In her free time, she enjoys bowhunting and spending time with her two children.
Culinary Services Director
Lisa Dominguez is the Culinary Services director for Solstice at Las Cruces. She has worked for almost 30 years in the culinary industry, with a specialty in pastries and baking. Lisa earned her culinary degree from LeCordon Bleu in Scottsdale, Ariz. She deeply cares for the well-being of residents and is passionate about providing quality meal experiences every day.
Lisa is a mother of three, grandmother of four and caretaker to her father. In her spare time, she enjoys floral design, spending time on the farm with her three horses and rocking out karaoke-style.
Vibrant Life® Director
Miriam Torres is the Vibrant Life® director for Solstice Senior Living at Las Cruces. She previously served as the Vibrant Life® assistant. She cherishes being a part of the Solstice team and is ready to embrace the role of director and motivate Solstice residents to be the best they can be.
Born in El Paso, Miriam has lived in Las Cruces most of her life. Miriam is married with two children, Alonso and Anahi.
Building Services Director
Manny Maldonado was born in Silver City, New Mexico, but has lived in Las Cruces his entire life. He has been in the building services field for over 20 years, working in both the apartment sector and the hospitality industry. Manny has been with Solstice at Las Cruces for over nine years and enjoys all the different cultures and dynamics that the residents provide every day.
He is a proud graduate of Las Cruces High School and New Mexico State University, where he majored in child psychology (Go, Dawgs! Go, Aggies!). In his free time, his children keep him busy with their active sports schedules.
